Key Role/Position Description

As a Web Designer, Front-End Developer and Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will utilize your web expertise to design and develop high-impact creative products with an award-winning team in a fast-paced environment.  You’ll interact with co-workers and consult with clients while assisting with preparing creative solutions from wireframes, mockups, to site launch that address unique client challenges.  You’ll continue to build upon your expertise through firm-provided training and self-motivation by staying abreast of emerging web technologies and best practices in usability.

Basic Qualifications

• A portfolio showcasing excellent creative design and standards-based code
• A BA/BS degree in web design and development or an equivalent field
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing front-end creative solutions
• Expertise of applicable design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Proficiency in (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Mastery of SEO-friendly, CSS-based layouts that adhere to W3C standards
• Familiarity with JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, Mootools, etc.)
• Thorough understanding of usability, accessibility, cross-browser compliance, and semantic markup
• Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and designing for screen readers and other assistive technologies
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, prioritize tasks and maintain deadlines
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Ability to articulate solutions and convey alternatives to client problems
• A passion for design and the desire to continually learn in challenging environments
• Ability to obtain a security clearance

Additional Qualifications

• Experience integrating and creating templates/themes for popular open-source content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.)
• Working knowledge of PHP and SQL database queries
• Exposure to HTML5, CSS3 and designing and developing for mobile platforms
